Being Bold: The Leadership Series

“Being Bold” has been an anchor for me in how I lead. It has shaped me and guided me at some of the most pivotal points in my life!

Taking the road less travelled! Taking that path which is full of fear but also contentment!

These words came from my dad more than 22 years ago, the day I left home. I wrote more about it here

Being bold is different from being brave.  Being brave is facing your fears.  Being Bold is choosing the harder path before the fear even shows up, because your gut tells you that this path might lead you somewhere worth going!

A man who left his village at the age of 16, and went on to raise four kids in a city as demanding as Delhi.  He did not get there by second guessing himself. He got there by being bold, again and again, in decisions nobody was even watching him make.

I carry this into every room I walk!  Whether it is a room full of investors and founders dappling over an idea worth pursuing, or whether I am considering the next pivot in my life! The litmus test is the same one my dad gave me two decades ago: does this scare me? Yes, But does it also feel right?  Yes. Then take action!

Boldness is a muscle you develop over time.  One honest conversation at a time.  One I am still building.  And, one I hope to pass on, the same way it was passed to me.
